Make Yourself At Home

Oh….look out, when our indomitable correspondent Shorty gets cabin fever, his house gets a makeover. Time to add some new accessories to that ’shore’ decor……

I think they call it ‘stir crazy’. You know, when conditions like illness or weather keep you indoors for prolonged periods of time. So, by definition, I’ve gone a little ‘stir crazy’ because I am definitely sick of winter and the walls are beginning to close in on me.
The one thing that I did notice while cooped up is my place needs a makeover, a major redecoration. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collect some ‘vintage’ pieces. That’s my delicate way of saying that walking around my home is like strolling through a flea market.
There is a look to seashore houses that feels like beach and boardwalk. It’s seashells, fishing boats, lighthouses, coastal furnishings, vacation accessories, escape, sunshine and that ‘shore’ decor. And you can find it from Point Pleasant to Beach Haven to Cape May. I found mine at a great place in Avalon called Complete Interiors.
Summer came a little early…it arrived in a furniture truck.
